God's Not Dead

I've been wanting to watch this movie ever since i heard about it, about a month ago. So when i saw it the other day at the store, i finally bought it!

A little background on the movie:

"When an atheist Philosophy professor plans to forego 'dusty arguments' in his class, he insists the new students declare that 'God is Dead.' Unable to do this, Josh is challenged to defend his faith and prove to the class that God's Not Dead. Against all odds, Josh stands up for his faith and takes on the challenge. "

I'm excited to watch it and let you all know what i think about it!

If you have already seen it, did you like it?

Sweet Moments

You know you are doing something right as a parent, when your oldest son leaves his younger brother a message that says: "You are more valuable than Gold xoxo".

I live for those sweet moments!

Adventures of Boys Chasing Frogs

Friday evening it started raining here and it didn't let up until Sunday afternoon. It was seriously pouring rain non-stop.

The kids had a fun time splashing in the puddles.

On Tuesday the boys went outside to play while Hubby was busy working on painting the exterior of the house. The boys were riding their bikes, while riding in the alley next to our house they found a puddle with a frog in it. Super Guy went to go get Hubby to show him. He told Boogie Man to stay there on his bike and watch the frog.

While Super Guy was talking to Hubby, they both heard a loud crashing noise. They ran to go check on Boogie Man.

He was laying in the puddle staring at the frog.

He had fallen off his bike, into the puddle.

Of course, being the silly guy Boogie Man is, he was talking to the frog... he was saying "Do you offer Frog protection, yes we offer Fraud protection, Frog, Fraud, Frog, Fraud... " (It's from a credit card commercial)

Life is never boring with little boys running around, is it?

Teriyaki Chicken {Recipe}

Last week i made a really yummy recipe, Teriyaki Chicken. Mmmm, it was delicious!  Plus it's so easy to make and only has 4 ingredients. So i thought i would share it with you.

Teriyaki Chicken

Ingredients:

2 lbs. boneless skinless chicken breasts (cut into small cubes)
1 Cup pineapple juice
1/2 Cup brown sugar
1/3 Cup soy sauce

Directions:

Put all ingredients into frying pan and cook (covered) until chicken is thoroughly cooked. Add some corn starch/water mixture if sauce is not thick enough. Serve over rice.
*Note: You could also throw all the ingredients into a crock pot and cook on low for 4-6 hours.*

This also makes a great freezer meal, just put all ingredients into a Ziploc bag and freeze, then just take out of the freezer and put into crock pot, when ready to use.

I'm totally bummed i forgot to take pictures of this, but trust me it turned out great and all the kiddos loved it!

Trouble At School {The Berenstain Bears}

Last week, we started reading "Trouble at School" by the Berenstain Bears. In order for us to learn some valuable lessons, this year we are going to be reading several different Berenstain Bears books.

If you haven't read "Trouble at School", here is a quick summary about the book (via Google)...

While out of school for a few days with a cold, Brother Bear ignores his make-up work. And when he returns to class, he discovers the consequences of neglecting his responsibilities: he fails his division test. Grizzly Gramps helps Brother learn that it's never too late to correct a mistake.

The lessons we learned from this book are: It's never too late to correct a mistake, honesty, and problem solving.

Here are some ideas for activities you could do along with this book:

1. Create a list of responsibilities you have, then create another list as to what would happen if you didn't do those responsibilities.
(i.e.Taking the garbage out - Garbage would pile up and the house would smell badly)

2. Draw some pictures to go along with #1.

3. Work together to come up with some ways to solve some problems your family might have (i.e. children not getting along, unorganized, not enough quality time, etc.)

If you are following along with us and also reading the book, what activity ideas do you have? I'd love to hear them!
