Quick Catch Up

Hi Guys!

I haven't really done a personal blog post in awhile. You know the ones where i share lots of personal information on what's been going on with my family and me. So i figured today would be a good day to do one of those posts.

This post is totally random, not planned out at all. I just sat down at my computer and decided to start typing, so we'll see what i come up with...

You guys, life has been a roller coaster ride lately.

2492ad33128466397737142e2e1176b1

Some things i can't share with you guys at all (sorry), and some other things i can't share with you yet, both of which are driving me crazy.

The things that i can't share with you all at, are things that are happening to another person in my life, but in a way they are affecting my life completely. It's affecting; my workouts, the way i eat, the amount of sleep i get, my mood, and even my blog.

I hope one day soon that situation will be resolved, until then i just have to survive the crazy ride.

In other news though, I've made it all the way through February without any coffee... I repeat, no coffee!!! I'm so proud of myself for this.  I started drinking coffee when i was 12, and it became a major addiction for me in my early twenties. Now, at the age of 32, i feel free from this addiction. I no longer crave it at all.

Lincoln (my 1 year old) has really become attached to me lately.. I thought it was maybe just a cold or teething, but it's been like 2 weeks now and he won't let me put him down, he always wants me to hold him or sit with him...

bb926359d0b7228cd5fec447c42ad804

I joke about him being obsessed with me, but honestly i don't mind it. I know these days will be gone soon.

Cruz (my 3 year old) is still in the process of being potty trained.. He has been the most stubborn child I've had to potty train yet.. I plan on doing a whole blog post about potty training soon, with what has worked and what hasn't worked.

Karina (my 6 year old) is no longer going to ballet. She started Ballet when she was 5, and she really loved doing it. This year though has been a struggle. She wasn't enjoying it at all. So after giving it 5 and 1/2 months, we gave up. We plan on getting her signed up for soccer this spring.

Dasean (my 10 year old) just had his birthday last week. He most likely will also be doing soccer this spring. He really wants to go to Lego Land someday. In fact every once in awhile he asks me "Mommy, have you and Daddy talked about Lego Land yet?". Because i told him that my husband and i needed to discus it and we would get back to him with an answer. Hopefully someday we will make it there.

Samuel (my 12 year old) is always taking something apart. Mostly Nerf guns, which he loves to modify and spray paint. He sure knows his way around a tool box. He currently has no desire to play any sports, which is kinda funny cause last year he said he wanted to become a professional soccer player... Kids sure can change their minds fast!

My husband has been truly blessed to be busy with work. The jobs keep pouring in, which we couldn't be more thankful for. He also gave up coffee with me this month, he made it 19 days without any coffee. Which i am proud of him for that, and thankful to have a best friend who is willing to support me in such a way.

e06deb09306d48c1a73e44297971ea07

That about sums what's going on in our life right now, well except for the stuff i can't share... Thanks for listening to my ramblings! Hope you are having a great week!

Plants Vs. Zombies Birthday Party

Hi Guys!

Wednesday was Dasean's 10th Birthday!

This year he wanted us to surprise him with a theme, and since he loves the Plants Vs. Zombies games so much, we decided to go with a Plants Vs. Zombies Birthday Party for him!

20180220_224016

Before i share all the Plants Vs. Zombies stuff, i want to share more about this special little boy we call Dasean.

I'm not sure how he can be 10 years old already, it really went by too fast.

I made these collages of him, with pictures from over the years...

dasean new to 8

dasean 9 to 10
He has changed so much from that tiny little newborn baby.

He is the sweetest the guy. He is so caring and helpful. He is also ridiculously funny! My world is definitely a brighter and happier place because he is in it!

Birthdays always make me a little sad, because for me it's a reminder that the time we get with them is so short and i just love them so much that i can't imagine not seeing them/being with them everyday.

Anyways, enough with the sadness, let's dive into all the Plants Vs. Zombies good stuff.

*I will try to link whatever i can for you to easily find it, in case you are also going to be throwing a Plants Vs. Zombies party!*

I'll start with the cake, because you can't have a birthday without cake... well actually you can, but it wouldn't be as yummy!

20180220_221327

We ordered the cake from a grocery store bakery, and we added on the fence and the Plants Vs. Zombies figurines.

I got the fence at Hobby Lobby, here is the link for that. ----> Fence

I got the figurines on Amazon, here is the link for that. ---> PVZ Figurines

Up next is a decoration i made, that we had sitting on the dinning room table.

20180220_224016

The grass tablecover i got at Zurcher's, but they don't have it listed online. I found one on Amazon that is similar and here is the link for that. ---> Grass Tablecover

The little fenced in yard thing, i got from Hobby Lobby. Here is the link for that. ---> White Fence Container

The plush toys i got on Amazon, here are the links for those. ---> Bonk Choy & Cactus Plant

The Sun and leaves were from Hobby Lobby. Here are the links for those. ---> Sun & Leaves

Next, here are some snacks i created.

20180221_175520

For the pudding cups: I used Snack Pack Pudding, topped with crushed oreos and then topped with green sixlets (for the Pea Shooter's peas). Then i printed out the Pea Shooter Printable i made and taped them onto the Snack Packs. You can download that printable for yourself, HERE!!!

For the grape cups: I used a plastic cup, green grapes, and marshmallows. First, i added in some grapes. Then, i put to marshmallows on top of those grapes. Next, i put more grapes on top of the marshmallows. Finally, i drew a zombie face on the plastic cups.

Now i'm going to share my Crazy Dave's Beard Shop...

IMG_3785

You can't have a Plants Vs. Zombies party without Crazy Dave, right?!

IMG_3787

I found these beards at Hobby Lobby, here is the link for them. ---> Beards

I made the Crazy Dave's Beard Shop printable, which you can download for yourself here. ---> Crazy Dave's Beard Shop

All my kids loved wearing these beards...

Now to show you the rest of the decorations and wrap things up because this post is getting pretty long...

IMG_3788

I got the Sunflower from Hobby Lobby, but unfortunately they don't have it online.

I got the Zombie caution tape from Amazon, here is the link for that. ---> Zombie Caution Tape

IMG_3789

I got the Cactus from Hobby Lobby, but unfortunately they don't have it online.

I also created this happy birthday banner for him. However, i didn't create it into a PDF yet so there is no link for it!

I hope you guys enjoyed this look into Dasean's 10th Birthday/ Plants Vs. Zombies Party!!

Tip Tuesday #3

Hi Guys!

Today i'm back with another Tip Tuesday!!

Tip Tuesday

This tip is the simplest thing ever, i am not sure why it took me soooo long to figure it out.

Making grilled cheese sandwiches in a Panini Press!

20180215_112808

It's truly genius! They come out beautifully each time!

Before discovering this tip, i would make them on the stove top. However, being a busy mom, i would get distracted forget to flip them. I would end up burning one side and under cooking the other. It was horrible.

I love that the Panini Press cooks the sandwich on both sides. There is no flipping. I just butter the top and the bottom piece of bread, and put some cheese in the middle.

20180215_112430

Then i lower the Panini Press handle. (Notice the light is red at this point!)

20180215_112434

And the light on it turns green when it is ready!

20180215_112804

So easy and fast! I don't know why i didn't think of it before. I've had my Panini Press since 2012, and i didn't discover/think of this brilliant idea until last year!

I hope you enjoyed today's Tip!

Happy Chinese New Year

Happy Chinese New Year! Or should i say, Gung Hay Fat Choy! {Which means "Happy New Year" in Chinese}

img_6377

That picture is from our Chinese New Year celebration back in 2015!

I didn't go all out like i did that year with celebrating. In fact this year's celebration only included me buying a big bag of fortune cookies and my kids spitting them out because they "tasted really bad like chemicals". So yay me! Mom of the year award stuff going on over here. (Totally being sarcastic)

Anyways, I wanted to share with you some Chinese New Year printables i have created over the years.
  • My Chinese New Year pack

chinese-new-year-1

It has over 30 pages, which include:
  • 12 writing pages
  • 18 coloring pages
  • an All About Me page
  • Cutting practice
  • Matching
  • and MUCH more!!!
This is one of the writing pages...

This is what one of the coloring pages looks like...

Tip Tuesday #2

Hi Guys!

I'm back with another Tip Tuesday! (You can check out my previous Tip Tuesday #1 HERE)

Tip Tuesday

Today i'm going to share with you my tip for storing completed homeschool paperwork.

Before i show you how i store our completed paperwork, i just wanted to let you know that my state doesn't have any requirements for as far as keeping documents is concerned. However, i like to keep all the work my children have completed just in case.

Here is how i do it.

Once my kids have completed an assignment, they had it to me and i grade it right away. Then i go over it with them if they got anything wrong, or just hand it back to them to turn in.

When they turn it in, they put it on this 3-tier desk shelf.

IMG_3780

Once their shelf gets pretty full, then i empty it into our banker boxes.

IMG_3781

I love these boxes. I've been using them for holding our completed homeschool paperwork for since 2015! The great thing about these boxes is, they can fit the entire school years worth of paperwork into one of them!

IMG_3783

Then their shelf is empty and ready to be filled up again with more completed work.

IMG_3784

So, to summarize my Tip Tuesday #2, if you want an easy way to store your child's school work, use these awesome banker boxes!
