10 Year Anniversary

Hi Guys!



Today is my 10 year blogging anniversary!!






That's right 10 years ago today i started this little blog and over the years it has evolved from my 1 reader (Hi Mom!) to my now 28 followers (Hi Guys! Thanks so much for following me!). 28 might not seem like a big number to most, but to me it means so much and i'm grateful for each one of them!


In those past 10 years we have added 3 more children to Our Family, we have moved from State to State, and we have started homeschooling. Our lives have changed so much over the years and so has this blog.


"Today Dasean finally smiled at me for the first time. It was so cute too! It was definitely worth the wait!!"


That was my first ever blog post! Which, to me now, is more like something that should have been posted on Facebook, but i was a blogging newbie and didn't really understand how the whole blog thing worked. So, I appreciate everyone that has stuck with me over the years, as i have tried to figure this blogging thing out.


Does 10 years feel like a big deal to anyone else? 10 years feels like a really big deal to me. It feels like maybe i should go out and buy myself a drink or something to celebrate kinda big deal.. but honestly i'm a mom, so that drink would most likely be an overpriced cup of coffee. Cheers!

House Hunting

Hi Guys!

I'm planning on doing this new thing here on the blog, where i share real life (in mostly real time) happenings at least one day a week.


Today i'm going to share about our house hunting journey so far.




We knew we wanted to buy a house this year. I shared it with you all as one of my goals for 2018. I thought around Summertime we would start the process of trying to get qualified, etc... but my Hubby decided to talk with a lender sooner, just to see.

And it turned out we were pre-qualified. Yay!

We immediately started looking for houses. We looked at so many houses, and then we found this one that we both really liked. We put in an offer and it was accepted!





Then, our next step was going through the inspection. This house, although we loved it, had more than a few things wrong with it. It felt like if we would have bought it, all our money would have gone into fixing up all the problems. We didn't want that. We just wanted to buy a house and enjoy it.
So we continued on looking for another house...

At this point my husband and i both thought it was almost impossible to find a house. We had looked at well over 30 houses! But somehow, another beautiful house came along...




Sadly, another person beat us to it and their offer was accepted. The hunt for a house was still on and our hope of finding a house was dwindling away by the minute.

Luckily, a few days later we found another house we liked and put an offer in on it right away. It was accepted, we have gone through inspection (which was great!), and we are supposed to close towards the end of April on it, if everything goes ok.

I plan on keeping you all in the loop with what happens with this process. My husband and i have both decided that if this doesn't go through ,for whatever reason, we aren't going to continue with the house buying process. We will just continue to rent for another year or so. So fingers crossed that everything goes through smoothly and we are home owners by the end of April!

Easter Books & Movies

Hi Guys!

Easter is only 6 days away! Can you believe that?! Are you ready yet? I haven't done ANY shopping at all. Whoops! I really need to get on that.


However, in the meantime i can feel like a person who is somewhat on top of things, by reading Easter books and watching Easter movies with my kids. So today i am sharing some of my favorites with you all...








I'll start with books first:

• There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Chick - We love all the "There was an old lady..." books.
• The Berenstain Bears Easter Story - I've been reading "Berenstain Bears" books ever since i was a little girl. They are wonderful books!
• God Gave Us Easter - We also really love the "God Gave Us Christmas" book!
• The Biggest Easter Basket Ever - This is a fun book to read!
• Easter Eggstravaganza Mad Libs - My kids and i love Mad Libs. So much fun!

Now for the movies:

• Hop - An all time favorite!
• It's The Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown - Can't go wrong with Charlie Brown, right?!
• Veggie Tales: An Easter Carol and 'Twas the Night Before Easter - We love Veggie Tales!
• The Passion Of The Christ - This movie is rated R, but for adults i believe it is well worth watching!
• Risen - This movie is rated PG-13, so not for small children.

For the movies, i checked first to see if they were on Netflix for instant streaming, but unfortunately they are NOT. I did link all the movies so you can find them on Amazon, which if you have Amazon Prime, they are all available for Rent or Buy.

February Favorites

I know this post is way late, March is almost over, but i still wanted to share with you all my favorite things from February!




My favorite book i read in February was She Is Yours: Trusting God As You Raise the Girl He Gave You. by Jonathan and Wynter Pitts. It was a really great book with lots of good prayers to pray over your daughters.

Because i went without coffee for all of February, i was drinking this delicious smoothie and it was definitely one of my favorite things for February.

It only takes 4 ingredients:

• Almond Milk (about 1 cup)
• Peanut Butter (1 to 2 tablespoons)
• Frozen Bananas (1 to 2 bananas, depending on size)
• Frozen Strawberries (about 1/4 to 1/2 cup)

Blend all the ingredients together until smooth... Add more milk if necessary.



Enjoy!



And for my last favorite thing for February, K-Love radio station.

At the end of January/ beginning of February, i decided i wanted my life (and my children's) to be filled with more positive and encouraging things. I randomly changed the radio station one day in the car and found K-Love, which i had never heard of before. I haven't changed the station at all since finding K-Love. I love their music!



One of my favorite songs right now is "More Than Anything" by Natalie Grant.

Flying Solo - He is almost done with this book ,and i'm sure he will be finished with it by today, but i'm not sure what his next book is going to be yet.


Dasean (4th Grade/10 years old)



The Sugar Creek Gang book 2 The Killer Bear - He is enjoying this series, just like Samuel did.


Karina (1st Grade/6 years old)




The Runt Pig - She is able to read these stories on her own.


Veronica (Me!)




Kisses From Katie - Samuel read this a few months ago and he really enjoyed it, so i thought i would give it a try.




Adventures for your soul - I'm trying to read more positive and encouraging books, and this one had good reviews, so i'm gonna give it a try.



Girl, Wash Your Face - I've also heard great things about this new book from Rachel Hollis. Can't wait to read it!
