Last Day of School 2017/2018

Hi Guys!

We finished up our 5th year of homeschooling on May 11th, so i thought today i would sit down and share how our 5th year went. The good and the bad.

For our 5th year of homeschooling we switched things up and went over to a year round homeschooling schedule. Which i think we all really enjoyed. It was so nice to take several small breaks throughout the year, i felt like we were less burnt out by the end of the year.

We tried out new curriculum this year, My Father's World and Heart of Dakota, I liked them both, however i'm not sure i will use them again. There were just certain things that i feel like didn't work for our family with each program.

Some of the issues i had with My Father's World, was i just thought it was too easy for my 7th grader. Same with Heart of Dakota, it was way too easy for my 1st grader.

Also i can't get over the price of My Father's World. It's just way too expensive.

Although our 5th year of school is over, we will still do some work over our summer break. We will continue to do some math, reading, and writing because i feel like those things are important to keep up with.

Our new school year (2018/2019) will start in early July, so look for all my curriculum picks and details about our 6th year of homeschooling coming up next month.
