I'm not sure about your kids, but my kids LOVE blankies. They carry them around with them everywhere!
Years ago i talked about Super Guy's blanket, which he had named "2 blankie boy", and how it was falling apart. It was a beautiful blanket made by my Grandma, who is no longer with us. Super Guy then attached himself to a spider man blanket that we bought at Toys-R-Us, so we were able to save the remains of "2 blankie boy".
Now it's Boogie Man's turn to give up his blankies (he has 2 crocheted blankets that he LOVES) cause they are ripped into shreds at this point. But he is really struggling with this and he will only give them up if i crochet him new ones to replace them.

I love crocheting, but my skills are limited. Which you wouldn't think they would be cause i learned how to crochet at the age of 12, but they are very limited. I only know how to single and double crochet and make baby hats ( i just taught myself how to make those last year).
So making new blankets for him, that aren't just a boring single or double crochet, is going to be challenging.
I really love this one...
Hopefully i'll be able to come up with something as nice as these ones, i'll let you know how it goes!
