Daily School Assignments

My 9 year old son and i always used to bump heads when it came to school assignments. Our days would go something like this:

Him: "What's next?"
Me: "English"
Him: "Ugh, how much more work do i have to do, when will i be done, when is my next break, etc. etc."


So i finally i had enough, something needed to change.

Then this great idea came into my head, why not type up a list of everything he has to do in a day (all his assignments) that way he knew what was expected of him and it would put him in charge of his own day and it would also free me up a bit to help his brother and sister.

So i typed one up along with a list of rules (i.e. all his assignments must get done, no complaining, etc. etc.) and he LOVED it, our day went much smoother.

Here is one of his daily school assignments

I let him do his assignments in any order he wants to and he is allowed to take breaks whenever he needs them. He checks off his assignments once they are done and he knows all his work must be completed each day.

This little piece of paper has been a lifesaver!
