Trouble At School {The Berenstain Bears}

Last week, we started reading "Trouble at School" by the Berenstain Bears. In order for us to learn some valuable lessons, this year we are going to be reading several different Berenstain Bears books.

If you haven't read "Trouble at School", here is a quick summary about the book (via Google)...

While out of school for a few days with a cold, Brother Bear ignores his make-up work. And when he returns to class, he discovers the consequences of neglecting his responsibilities: he fails his division test. Grizzly Gramps helps Brother learn that it's never too late to correct a mistake.

The lessons we learned from this book are: It's never too late to correct a mistake, honesty, and problem solving.

Here are some ideas for activities you could do along with this book:

1. Create a list of responsibilities you have, then create another list as to what would happen if you didn't do those responsibilities.
(i.e.Taking the garbage out - Garbage would pile up and the house would smell badly)

2. Draw some pictures to go along with #1.

3. Work together to come up with some ways to solve some problems your family might have (i.e. children not getting along, unorganized, not enough quality time, etc.)

If you are following along with us and also reading the book, what activity ideas do you have? I'd love to hear them!
